WHAT IS AN HR UNCONVENTIONALIST?
–
Well, it’s pretty simple, it’s a person who goes beyond the traditional and thrives in doing things differently in order to make work a better place.
Watch this to understand more of my approach. (I know, another shameless TEDx).
WHERE DID IT COME FROM?
–
In 2015, after several years of developing a career in Human Resources, I came to a standstill in learning and growth. I understood that I wanted to breathe creativity and innovation into internal functions by using methods from many different industries.
In other words, I want to make boring processes more palatable to the people they are meant for; putting purpose back into process.
However, I needed a better title to explain that I was going beyond the traditional. One day while walking down the produce aisle I saw two separate crates for conventionally grown apples and another for organic. That’s when it hit me, I am not a traditional boxed-in “conventional” apple (HR person) but more of the organic beyond policies and processes HR person. Thus came the idea to be an HR Unconventionalist.
